Defne Koz

Defne Koz is a Turkish industrial designer whose practice sits at the intersection of cultural heritage and contemporary innovation. She studied at the Domus Academy in Milan before joining the studio of Memphis legend Ettore Sottsass, an experience that shaped her ability to synthesize her Turkish roots with Italian design culture. Her work humanizes new technologies, rediscovers artisanry, and celebrates material sensuality across a wide range of product types. Together with Marco Susani, she co-founded Koz Susani Design in Chicago, creating everything from high-tech devices to luxury crafts and domestic objects. Her work has been recognized by Elle Decor International, Red Dot, and the German Design Council, and exhibited at venues including Milan's Triennale and Ozone Gallery Tokyo.
